On the morning of November 22, 2025, at Meeting Room B, the Faculty of Engineering & Technology - Quy Nhon University successfully organized a specialized Seminar with the participation of speaker Dr. Nguyen Tan Du - Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Innovative Solutions (INOSO).
In the context of the semiconductor industry becoming a focus of global attention and a strategic spearhead in Vietnam, the seminar with the theme "Introduction to Microchip Technologies and How to Develop a Workforce for a Fab" brought much valuable and practical information to the Faculty's lecturers and students.
During the session, Dr. Nguyen Tan Du provided an overview and in-depth insights into two main aspects:
- Microchip Technologies: The speaker updated the latest technology trends, as well as modern microchip design and manufacturing processes. This knowledge helps students clearly visualize the picture of the global semiconductor industry.
- Human Resource Development for Fab Factories: This was a central topic that attracted much interest. Dr. Nguyen Tan Du analyzed in detail the skills, knowledge, and mindset necessary for an engineer to work effectively in chip manufacturing factories (Fab).
The Seminar did not only stop at theory but was also an opportunity for direct dialogue. Attending delegates showed deep interest in simulation tools, design software, and laboratory equipment necessary for students to get as close as possible to the actual working environment. The two sides also exchanged ideas on future scientific research and development (R&D) cooperation orientations, leveraging the professional strengths of the lecturers of the Faculty of Engineering & Technology.
The Seminar concluded successfully, opening many new directions in the training and career orientation work of the Faculty of Engineering & Technology. The Faculty sincerely thanks Dr. Nguyen Tan Du for taking the time to share his precious experiences.
It is hoped that through this meeting, students have gained more motivation and clearer orientation to pursue their passion in this high-potential high-tech field.
